For move two, I looked up evidence disproving the 10,000 hour rule. During my research, I came across the website of the organization Changing the Game. The goal of their organization is to make sports fun for kids again. In order to make sports more fun, they should not be taken too seriously at a young age.

 

The reason that this connects back to the 10,000 hour rule is because coaches and parents are taking this too seriously. Therefore, demanding too much from young kids.

70% of kids are dropping out of sports by age 13

Most kids are quitting because they no longer think that sports are fun. However, sports teaches kids many core values that they need. They learn teamwork, how to take risks, humility, determination, courage, and how to overcome challenges. Youth sports is one of the best places these lessons can be learned
